-From I'm a Survivor by Reba McEntireAfter Iona begins to settle in Skyrim after the events of Helgen and the slaying of Mirmulnir, she moves onto Windhelm, determined to join the ranks of the rebel faction, the Stormcloaks. Though Ulfric does indeed remember her from Helgen, he initially refuses to allow her entry into his army. Not to be pushed aside so easily, the stubborn cat remains in the Bear of Markarth's city, making ends meet as a ranger and even begins helping the citizenry of Windhelm, for a modest measure of coin, of course. Eventually, he won't be able to ignore her.
Just exploring Iona's pre-Stormcloak days in Windhelm where she does whatever a poor girl has to do in order to afford her room at the Candlehearth.
